Our programs succeed because of sponsorship and donations from people like you—personal donors, outdoor industry businesses, and foundations. In order to keep our courses affordable for our students, we rely on your monetary support.
SUPPORT THE BOGAR FAMILY FUND TO REBUILD AFTER THE LAHAINA FIRE

Our beloved instructor Geoff Bogar and his wife Shannon Weber-Bogar have lost their home, their dog, their best friend, their vehicles and all worldly possessions as a result of the horrific fire in Goeff’s hometown of Lahaina, HI. Geoff is currently being treated at a burn unit on O’ahu for severe burns that he sustained to his arms, hands as well as burns to his face during his escape from the fire. We don’t know how long he will be admitted but we do know that they will need help with the medical bills and they will certainly need help to begin to try and rebuild their lives after this horrible tragedy.
Geoff’s involvement in Peak Rescue began 20 years ago. He is an integral part of the Peak family and our goal is to provide him with as much support as possible during this incredibly difficult time.
If you want to donate to Geoff and his family in order to help with immediate and upcoming expenses, please do one of the following:
Write a check to Peak Rescue Institute with “Bogar Family Fund” in the note line and send it to:

All of your donations will be tax deductible and Geoff’s family will get 100% of the amount of your donation.
Because Peak Rescue Institute is a private foundation, there is a cap on the deductibility of donations for some taxpayers, based on Adjusted Gross Income. Almost all donors are not affected by this cap.
You should check with your tax advisor to see if the deduction, associated with the size of your donation and your Adjusted Gross Income, is capped at 30%. If not, then 100% of your donation is tax deductible.

Our Mission

In today’s world, emergency responders are being asked to take on more and more roles. Rope rescue is a growing field in which fire departments, police departments, mountain rescue agencies, and other volunteer organizations are increasingly expected to provide professional service.
Many agencies find this difficult as they are prevented from obtaining quality training as a result of limited resources. Peak Rescue Institute is dedicated to educating individuals and organizations in the art and science of rope rescue and related disciplines. We are committed to developing the most competent rescuers possible.

Our Standards

We select our instructors based not only on their technical competence, but also their passion for teaching. We all take great pleasure in watching our students learn.
In addition to teaching, every Peak Rescue instructor is also a rescue technician for his or her respective agency. This ensures that we don’t teach merely from a theoretical point of view, but from one backed by real-life experience.
In order to stay current with industry standards, Peak Rescue has established a fund for continuing education. Through this fund our instructors can attend other rescue courses at minimal personal cost.
